Thanks... took me forever to get good pics.. had to take 5 of each pen to get a decent shot... they weren't cooperating with me much.

BTW... I have a pair of bantams that I bought at an auction... I just liked the way they looked, but I have no idea what they are... I have looked at standard hatchery pics and googled bantams... but I cannot find anything they remotely look like.

They weren't cooperating too good either.. LoL
Anyone have any idea what they might be?

Thank you ladies for the warm welcome. I have already gained TONS of info from this forum, it is very helpful.

@Vfem, I think it's great that you have friends here and where ever you can find a "safe" place to share your thoughts and things you're going through, it is always awesome I think. We all need that and sadly, we don't always get it from family and close friends. ESPECIALLY family! LOL. Sometimes they are the cause of a lot of headaches I know. Just my husband and I deciding to raise some chickens on our land made several family members question us. And doubt us. But oh well, it's not their life to live and I look at it as a fun, new & exciting adventure that hopefully I can make back a little bit more than the cost of feed each month. That would be awesome. More would even be better but I don't plan to get involved in a full blown business or anything. I am sure there is a lot to all that. Selling some really yummy eggs to a few friends, getting some for my own family that I know are 100% better than the stores AND make a little bit of money sounds fun to me. Do you or anyone have any experience with selling eggs at all? I am sure that is on another thread huh? I'll go look.

Oh, and we get our first ever chicks around the 13th. One week!

Kim

Hi Kim, I live in Hampstead, NC about halfway from Jacksonville and Wilmington. We have about 10 hens that take turns laying. I sell all the eggs they give us, and could do double that much easily! I just passed the word around at work. I have several people that even have an "egg" tab!! LOL! They pay me in advance, and I just let them know when they need to add more to their "account"!! I sell them for $3 a dozen.

Welcome to the forum!! Lots of great information and folks here!!

Good Morning all.........

MRL... I know what you mean, my birds only stay still in between clicks. I rarely get the picture I want.

The bantams look like some kind of bantam

sorry not much help. But they are pretty..... so I would call them "just for pretty" bantams.

Seriously.... they look like they may be Serama mixes. Here are some of my pure Seramas..... they come in all colors. Could be

Hi. I'm just starting out, but I have a lavender orpington rooster and two lavender hens, two self-blue wynadotte hens, two lavender mottled bantam hens and a black bantam rooster. My daughter was excited when I told her I have "purple" chickens.
