Good Morning!! I hope everyone enjoys the WCA that is going...BHep promised DoubleA and I minute by minute updates on all that is going on...just in case!! LOL
I will say...this is crazy. Yesterday it was 70 (enough for DH and I to get a farmers tan from gardening!!) out and today they are predicting snow/sleet mixture by noon today with a high in the 30's...really?? Tomorrow it is suppose to be warm again....what is wrong with this picture?? LOL...maybe the weather is having pregnancy related hot/cold flashes too?? Regardless, those of you headed to WCA be sure to bundle up just in case (you never know...the weather forecaster MIGHT be right this time)!! I hope everyone has a great Sunday!! I'm off to see if my saddles made it through the night and will last the day?!? At least the 2 with saddles will be warmer than the others, right?? LOL

I am in the Jacksonville area but am not military. Which is the number one question asked around here. lol. I have 26 1 week old babies. 3 Anconas, 2 Silkies, 1 Black Australorp, 8 Red Stars, 4 Barred Rocks, and I think 8 Araucanas. Does that total 26? lol. Anyway, this is definitely a very exciting adventure for me and my family but we are really enjoying them so far. We also have a wonderful Rottweiler that loves the little chicks, well he loves all living things. A BIG baby for sure.

Sure wish it wasn't so yucky out. Hubby is building me a nice big coop and today he is off and it's suppose to rain all day.

Mine haven't as far as I know. Your the second person I have heard from in NC that their muscovies are laying. I hope mine start soon!

The little brats found a corner of the feed shed to lay in. About impossible to twist and turn my body to get in there. I heard a bunch of racket in there and got out the flash light. They tore up a piece of foam and made a nest. I did take the eggs out. I have seen the runners breeding one of the Muscovy girls. I need to separate and move some stuff around so I can get to the nest easier.

Thats awesome, I am very happy for you. What would the babies look like of a runner and muscovy? Would they be sterile?

This will be my first full year of having a muscovy hen - she laid about 4 eggs when I first got her then it turned cold. Can't wait until she starts laying again.

That is my understanding.... the ducklings could be infertile. So we will eat those eggs. The easiest solution would be to coop up the Muscovy, but then they lose there hidey hole.

Sent the day

Mon is a big day for me. I have to go for a stress test. Dr. thinks I have a blockage in my heart.
For a little history, I had a heart attack at age 24 (11 years ago).
I have been ok for the last 11 years, not great but ok.
I am kinda scared.

My prayers are with you for your doctor visit tomorrow.
