Good morning to you all..........

The end of the week, lots of mud to contend with but the forecast is dry all week, good news, hopefully the mud pit will dry out!

An irratic week for eggs, somedays 5 or 6 other days 7..... I had to have a talk with the girls last night.........

Anyways, Happy Easter to you all! To those who do not celebrate..... what can I say..........

Only a week to Greensboro and 3 weeks to Chickenstock!

Glad we didn't get the downpour the western side got, got rain but not bad, got my yard mowed yesterday its just chilly.

Off to have lunch with some chicken (specifically Silkie) buddies today Which is awesome.

then gotta come home and finish the grow out pen I'm working on, and might start on a 2nd one. Easy peasy to make (except the tin cutting UGH)

Enjoyed the chicken swap at TSC this morning. I got there about 8:30, and by the time my husband joined me at about 9:00 my pullets were already gone. Lukecityhens put on a show for us all with one of his birds.

We looked about and I picked up a pair of lav Orpington cockerels since my black split roo, Toby, died this week. I really only wanted one, but he gave me a deal on two so it was hard to resist. Especially since they were good, healthy-looking birds. One of the two I really like, and I think will keep. He also had some gorgeous BCM cockerels to sell and I was sorely tempted, but I have nothing anywhere near big enough to breed so it would have been bad chicken math.

Hubby also got some yummy strawberries! Then we picked up some feed and left. I went home to settle roos, and found my chick lights off.

They were all on this morning. The two that are off are on the same line, so when hubby gets back (He took off for the gun show) we'll have to sort them out. Easier with two than one walking back and forth. I'm glad they didn't go off in the night; we had frost this morning!

Well sorry I missed you Hollow... I got there at about 10am and was on my way home by noon. Sold or swapped everything except a few dozen eggs.

I sold lots of chicks, some ducklings and 16 chickens.

There will be a auction in Sanford next Sat.... not sure of the address, you can find it on CL.
Then next Sat. another flock swap in Fayetteville on C St. @ Southern Gin & Grain.

I will be heading to both I think.

I MISS YOU GUYS!

Just wanted to let you know I'm recovering, found a decent combo of drugs and though I got an infection on Thursday we caught it early and started treating that too. I'm sleeping good and my brain isn't so fuzzy anymore so I can think. Whoohooo!

I'm hoping with some rest tonight and some rest tomorrow since its a holiday and we're doing breakfast with family and friends, I'll be home by noon and can take the afternoon to recover the rest of the way through. Will catch up with you guys on Monday I hope.

I bet my chickens miss me, my husband has been feeding and watering them... so they're not getting cuddles like I try to do.

I hate we didn't make it but my two girls were not co-operating! I drove by around 11:00 and didn't see Hollows car so I chickened out and went to Wal-Mart. Maybe we'll get to one soon.....
