Have lots and lots of space for chickens because hatching is really, really addicting, set up a craigslist account to sell the extras, and (again) have lots of space for chickens because chicken math is about to take over. Beth - I have tried talking DH into a pool, but sadly he says we don't have enough room for one because the back acreage is reserved for chickens, ducks and sheep while the front wooded lot is for the Ram and then there's the garden and orchard. The only available spot would be by the side of the house, but that is where the garage is suppose to be built, so he refuses to let me have my way!! LOL. Looks like we will just have to party in the bathtub as our make-believe pool!!OOHH, and if I put momma and baby outside with the rest, will she remember to put him/her back into the coop at night?!?

My first hatch will be the 3 dozen blue silkie eggs I've collected from the girls in the last two weeks! On a serious note, don't buy hatching eggs that you may be really attached to on your first round. Get some for free/cheap from your own flock for a trial hatch. Have fun and happy hatching!
My craigslist account is all set up! And I keep telling myself “I can't keep any!”……“if I do keep some it'll only be 2 splashes! No more!”
