Evening all! I hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful day! It is really hard for me to get much done outside of the back yard. I get so tied up with all the chickens! Between checking water, giving out treats, spending time with everyone, before I know it, my day is half over!! Did get most of yard mowed, will finish up tomorrow, total yard is about 3 acres. Also was able to take time with all the container plants on the deck, and vacuumed the pool. All in all , I guess I did OK.

Last night, I moved the broody Cochin and eggs into new house. This am, she was not on the nest, during the day, she was more off than on the nest. Also, she sounds kinda congested ????? Could that be from the new coop being dusty, as I cleaned it out and put fresh shavings? I guess I just leave her be and keep fingers crossed? Any ideas?

My buff and EE babies are soooo darn cute!!!! I could just sit and watch them all day long!! The EEs are such different colors too! Here are some pictures I took yesterday!

Good Morning everyone! Hope you all have a great day.
I have a favor to ask of you all if you don't mind.……. My mother is a breast cancer survivor of 8 years. But recently the doctors found lump in her left arm, the same side the cancer was on. The did a biopsy but it was inconclusive. So know she is having surgey next week to remove the lumps and detemine once and for all whether or not its cancer.
Can I please ask you all to pray for her? THANK YOU
Will do! I am a BC survivor too... been cancer free since last Nov 16th to be exact!!!

Quote: IMHO, as a farm kid, to me it was the way the world worked. If the older folks didn't get very upset why would us kids? We understood that critters die (sometimes for dinner) sometimes bad stuff happens, they die and we go on with the day. This not saying that a person has to like it, but it happens. I think that the younger in life it happens the better for the child, JMO! Also life lessons are all over a farm from plants to stay away from , critters to stay away from, what bugs might bite/sting, to where the good fishing worms are! Have fun with your kids and enjoy the day!

I'm a new mommy again today! I picked up 4 Ameracaunas, 4 Lemon Cuckoo Orps, and a four week old Polish that I am just head over heels for. I will post pics soon! I think the Polish look like rockstars so he has been named Slash the Cockstar...I LOVE him and he's such a cuddler.

Trust me, we have been laughing at his name all day...nothing wrong with some good ole poultry humor, right?

Yea they had some really cute chicks and some gorgeous ducklings but I must save my money and I must resist buying more birds.... I am planning to get into mealworm farming though. Thought it would be a good way to save money on treats. So now I've got another project to research lol
Using your head. It's easy to get over whelmed with impluse buying only to find out too late. Mealworms are expensive, I buy mine in bulk but it's still costly.
