Thanks for the well wishes for Sally. Poor girl and now my girls are.seperated for the night. Also thanks for all the advice to help her. I wrote it down to take with me to the store.

Also I have been trying to post over and over and it will not let me submit. So hopefully from my phone will work.

Hollow I am.sorry to hear about Ms. Bossy. I liked reading about the story you posted. She sounded like a lot of fun to watch and love on. I would have posted sooner but been having troubles posting.

GREAT its happened again, a couple months ago a pack of hound dogs killed many of mine and my neighbors chickens, they even attacked their newborn foal! Well animal control has been catching them with live traps and my neighbor is shooting any that come on his property. I just haven't been able to shoot them, I'm to softhearted. Well tonight my neighbor called to tell me that the dogs killed her potbelly and 3 of the piglets, and tore into an outdoor brooder and 46 chicks are gone! ! So I was just asleep when I heard a ton of noise and ran to the barn to find 3 wild mutts getting their A**es whooped by my boxer pyranees mix, who has started sleeping in the barn! Hope that teaches them

Rough sleepless night for me here. DD#2 wouldn't do anything but cry/fuss and nothing I did would settle her down.

I really hate moments like those. Sounds like it was a rough night for several of you as well. Sending a LOT of

your way as well as prayers for the injured goat & lost flock members.

Yay for good dog news Wild - we will pray those mutts won't come back!!
If you are going anywhere this morning and you are in my neck of the woods...be careful, it's rather foggy and nasty outside. That being said, anyone want to go grocery shopping for me? I am out of salad fixings and I NEED my salad fix!

Super excited, DH is taking me to Hilltop Farms this weekend to go Strawberry picking!! Okay, honestly, he and DD#1 will be doing the picking, I will be tending to the baby and taking LOTS of pictures as this will be my "big girl's" FIRST strawberry picking. She is excited and keeps walking around asking, "far-fry" (that's her word for strawberry & flower...don't ask me WHERE she came up with that, for I have NO clue). In other great news, we are getting a new-to-us freezer chest next weekend and plan to fill it with LOTS of fruits, veggies....oh and meat birds!!

Good morning everyone. Sorry for all of your losses

It has been a busy week.
I graduate from college tonight

My husband had a big day on Mon
Tuesday was my middle son's 14th birthday
Wed was rehearsal for graduation (took forever)
Tomorrow night DH has a ceremony he is in
Sat we are having a family dinner for said birthday and graduation
Sunday we are having a yard sale at the synagogue

LOL I love my hectic life

On the chicken news I have a question
when do I start giving my future layers calcium?

My feather babies are getting big

Thanks for the condolences for Ms Bossy. They help.

My own condolences for dog attack victims! I second/third/fourth/fifth the thoughts on keeping those bite wounds open and using antibiotics. I also second the idea on injectable antibiotics. Puncture woulds, particularly bites, have a tendency to abcess. Perhaps caring for your goats wounds will end up making her easier to handle in the long run.
