Ok ALex, I will be the LATE comer since I have to work until 4... but the plan is to come for the after process party. You know, the after, after party?! LOL

Besides those darn birds are only weighing in at 5 lbs right now... so I won't be processing next week. We're going to wait 1 to 2 more weeks to off the fatties.

In the meantime, I bought lots of shrimp to get us over the hump of not having chicken!!! Hahahaha

Thought I'd post these guys here before putting them on craigslist. A trio of black tailed white jap bantams. 10 months old both girls are laying. Also a salmon faverolle pair 18 weeks. And day old blue, black and blue partridge silkie chicks. PM for prices.

LukeCity,

My incubator is not the one you need. I'm currently running an el-cheapo with a poor hatch rate. You're welcome to try, but you'd be better off with someone with a better quality bator.

As for the Farm Days party at Beths. When details are nailed down maybe I can get DH to be interested in it. I certainly wouldn't mind meeting some fellow chicken keepers. From the sound of it there are lots of kids that would be attending too so my boys would be entertained. I only know of 2 things that we are definately already committed to in August. If the party falls on a free weekend it could work out for us to be there. Where is Beths located at anyway. I know how picky my DH is about traveling for things. If it isn't too far away I can convince him better probably!

WOO HOO I joined just in time for a party! I love to party it's what I do. Depending on where you are I would like to try to meet all my new friends :) Unfortunately my homesteading skills are next to nothing since I'm just starting but I can certainly bring baked goods, cakes, pies, cookies and kids.

I didn't really think so, but some things should just be clear up front, in my not-always-humble opinion. Makes it smoother all around, usually.

Chicken! We can cook chicken! Yay!
You are SOOOOO right.....everything should be set up
ahead so there are no OMG later.....or at least only little ones.
The more it's planned out the more we will all have once there

Guess I should google it!

ETA: Googled it and it appears to be near the coastal end of NC. About 7 counties from me. Hmmm...bet my DH won't go for that since it seems like it would be a few hours of driving.
