This sounds like my Mother and Aunt when they went on a road tripGood Morning Everyone!
Hope CSB and RF are having a good trip.![]()
All is well here this sunshiney morning.
Got the two escapees rounded up last night, and returned, but I moved all those adults to the far side of the duplex where it will be much harder for them to "go home". The old Speckled Sussex, Speckles (original, yes?) does not understand that this is a better place for her. No adult roos to bother her at this time. Both food and water are indoors, so if she doesn't feel like going outside, she doesn't need to. I even do their morning scratch inside there, as it's much bigger. Plus, I want to be able to call them all the way in there, whereas at the old henhouse I just need to call them into the moat at times, so that's where they get scratch. So, she'll be better off down there. And a couple others of the girls I moved down have scratched up backs from the boys, so they'll have time to heal up and grow some feathers back. I need to see about making a few aprons, I think.
I've got another banana streusel coffeecake in the oven, a pound of bacon cooked, and a toaster that went wacky this morning and seriously burned the toast for hubby's breakfast...and the fire alarm didn't even get the kids up!
Tomorrow we close on our refinancing our place at 3% interest! It did drop below that after we locked in, and the penalty to change isn't worth the small diffference. But 3% on a fifteen year loan wil give a lower payment than the original loan at 30 years! I'll take that! And then Wednesday I leave, first to Athens, Georgia to get my sis, then a long haul north of Chicago...fourteen hours driving time. We're both old ladies though, so we'll be stopping to stretch periodically. It's a good thing I like to drive. Her driving is scary. Really scary. I will do all the driving. She will keep me awake. That will work well. She is Not allowed to drive my car, unless I'm dead. If I fall down and break my leg, I will call hubby to fly up and drive me home. Or send my son. Seriously. Scary, scary driver.
Have a great day, everyone!
