Hi folks
frow.gif

Hate to hear how hot it has been for everyone.........sure hope it cools down soon.

We are in California but should be heading back towards home this week.
We'll be doing a slow wandering back to home and stopping to see whatever
looks interesting to us along the way. Jamie has plans of us picking up some
hatching eggs along the way......talk about hatching crazy......

Edit to add Where is the Ivy cream, I seem to have found a bit of Posion Ivy, and it's doing it's best to drive me nuts in this heat.

I love going to WCA but I am going to have to agree with the author of this post.... as hot as it has been..... WCA should make some changes or just close their doors on days like today.

I so agree with this. Wish I could of read the post but is been removed

If I did't need to take her eggs to Beth, I would not have added a few of my own

Basicly it said it was too danged hot for animals to be boxed up... without fans or air conditioning pointed towards the poor animals in hot boxes of death.... with no water during the hottest part of the day. They also stated that there were some bunnies & turkey poults that did not make it.
I wasn't there... so cannot vouch for WCA or this unknown person. But we all know how hot it was today.... I myself would not knowingly box up my own animals to sit in this heat... to sit through an auction. So.... you can't lay all the blame on WCA. People did take their poor animals to sit in those hot boxes.

Moved some groups around today as many have been running together in grow out pens so snapped a few pics and thought I would share.

Bantam Lavender Orpingtons - one of the girls is getting close and I saw the cockerel treading her!

Bantam Barred Orpingtons - this group is getting close too, still have an extra cockerel to move.

Good Morning Everyone!

CSB!! Good to see you! Bring back good eggs! (I wouldn't object to some B/B/S English Orp eggs....

A shame about WCA, but that's why I didn't go either! I don't want to do that to my animals, nor buy animals that are under such stress. They've also been holding the flock swap at TSC, and I'm not doing that either, out in the sun! What happened to common sense? Yeah, yeah...not so common.

However, if the temps are better next weekend, I will be going and taking birds. Depends on the temps.

We saw fleas on the dogs for the first time this morning, so they are all getting baths and flea stuff this morning. We've been lucky this summer when everyone else is fighting them hard, but looks like they finally found us.

I must agree.... I was not there either. But WCA does their best. I would not have brought my animals out in that extreme heat either...for the same matter...I don't bring young chick etc. out in extreme cold either.
