I hate it when the chicken sitter doesn't show up! Lost two of my teenage turkeys and my 11yr old golden lakenvelder. Waiting for more fall out from lack of feed and water while in a heatwave!

What??!!! That's dreadful! In this heat, and someone is that irresponsible!? I'm gobsmacked. And I'm sorry. I assume that your chicken sitter is in the hospital. That's the only excuse I can think of.

I don't know where the chicken sitter is, can't get in touch with him. But THANK YOU TO SCOTTCADDY for feeding them now

A predator that takes chicks and not the adults? Sounds like a cat, possibly. A snake would take a chick of course, but the snake would still be there when you went to check. It can't gulp down the chick and run or carry it off. A fox or other wild predator would be after the adults, I would think. A dog would be noticable. Sounds like cat to me.

Had the NPIP folks come out and test all my birds. Glad that its over and out of the way for a year

good evening folks......well I got brave this afternoon and let 4 of my pigeons out for a test flight

to see if they could find their way back home...lol
at dusk 2 were back on top of the coop.....they haven't figured out the wooden drop-threw hole I made them on top of the wire coop
sure hope the other 2 find their way back in the morning

already gettin ready for the WCA sunday.....haven't been in 3 weeks....my DW is going crazy....she needs her chicken fix

and we got a truck load of stuff to sell.....tryin to thin the flock a bit.....cause someone here at home keeps gettin eggs in the mail.....3 boxes today

and Im incharge of the bator and if the eggs dont hatch....boy do I hear it

Sorry hear about all the predator attacks......ours are pretty safe from everything except snakes

Old Chicken sitter better run when I get home!!!! Scottcady called and. Laid the bomb down, it wasn't bad enough losing the two teenage turkeys that looked like Tom (who is their deceased dad) and only leaves me one to his babies. But I lost Peepers, my avatar and my cross beak, who didn't have a fat build up like the others.

[Coop Scoop Boogie]

Well....we made it to Las Vegas.....going to stay an extra day to get the
brakes checked before going over any more mountains and to get a new
tail light lens as it seems the 120 heat in the Mohave melted the lens
gasket and let the dang light cover fall off on the highway. It is SO hot
here that even a stiff breeze is hot as hades.....they have to add cold
water to the swimming pools just so you don't get scalded.I'm hoping
to find a reasonable place to check the brakes and not charge me a
fortune.

So sorry for the losses folks had and I know of one young man
who needs to make himself scarce when we get back.
