I have plenty of extra birds to thin down, but not the breed you were looking for. I live just outside of Goldsboro if any one wants to pick some out.

I'm looking for sources (for future restocking) for B/B/S English Orpingtons and Dark Brahmas. I want them NPIP, too. I'd prefer buying chicks (probably in the spring) but would settle for eggs. And I'd like to find more than one breeder for each of them, so I can get different bloodlines to play with. I'd be thrilled with exhibition stock.

The rest of the birds I'm going to get are just going to be layers for the most part, and I'm going to get assorted breeds from hatchery stock. Easter Eggers, some dark layers and some pretty birds to go with them. But for breeding, I want the EO and the DB.

Was admiring the patterning on the turkey poults today, too. They are lovely birds. Hope we can save them all!

Let me know if you know any sources for the birds I want, please. I'd like to contact breeders as soon as I can project a restocking timeline.

Check with me in the spring, I should have some Exhibition bbs available, eggs and/or chicks. Most of my mature stock already shows and does extremely well and will be starting some younger birds this fall.

Hentymes for the EOs.. She has awesome birds and shows regularly.

I believe Gavin & Allison have the Dk Brahmas.

Pretty sure they are both NPIP.

I have R-Reds, Sex Links, EE, A few Partridge Plymoth Rocks that are getting beat up by my Ameraucana, and reds. I would like to move a bunch of the males. The rest are mixed up. I have had eggs that I was not sure who they were from. I like the different colors.

We have other birds, but The red & the Amer got as many hens as they could. I finally removed them from the main house because they were messing up the girls' feathers so much. Most are looking much better now. I like don't mind mutts for egg laying; they are great. Also, the sex links are great for eggs too. Having a variety of breads, and ages means never running out of eggs!

Until we are able to put tires on the truck, and a few other things that it needs; I can't load any up to take to the auction. I wanted to do it with the boys, and bring home a few different birds, with different blood lines. If anyone is planning on being in the area.. I would be happy to show them a few runs that they can pick out what they like. I also have RR hens & pullets in the hen house that were not picked to stay, but the house and run are the largest, so when they turned 17 weeks just Friday, we moved them. They should lay in 3-6 weeks if all is well. The tree canapy helps with the weather we have been having. We also have a kiddie pool, as well as water in the house (out of the sun). The Sex Links that aged in ahead of them are laying. I am getting about a dozen per day in the heat. This number I expect to go way up as the weather cools down again.

I will not count the birds!! I will not count the birds, I seen/heard of people count birds and get in some kinda bind and then sell off good birds.

Good Morning Everyone!

What a lovely rainy morning. I'm soaked from morning chores, and went through several towels getting the Boys fit to come back in. But I'd far rather have the rains we've had than the drought everyone else is having.

HenThymes....Beth has a few of your birds, I think. They are gorgeous! I'll definitely be wanting some of yours!

I'll see what Gavin and Allison have in the way of Dark Brahmas, too. Thanks for the head's up.

Any more??? I do want more than one source for both, just for the different bloodlines.

For the layer pen, the roos will be Easter Eggers. Hens will be EEs, Wyandottes (Gold-laced and BLR both, I think), Rose-comb Brown Leghorns, Welsummers, Barnvelders and Speckled Sussex. That ought to give me a variety of pretty birds to look at and some good egg layers. I'll just get those in from Ideal, and not worry about bloodlines at all.

Planning, planning, planning. But I need to go to work, too.......
