Anyone have an idea for drying out a run that just has turned to muck! It can't take anymore rain, and it is raining again now. I was hoping that if we did not get anymore tonight that by tomorrow eve it would be a little better, but I can see that is not going to happen. Poor birds!

It reminds me of the silt in salt water marshes. I am scared that my feet will get stuck when I go in to check on them. This just can't be good. I though about putting the birds in the greenhouse and garden, but I still have to return them in the eve. I don't want to put them back in the run muddy.

Laying a couple bales of straw might help. Or you might to convert to a gravel run. Or dig a drainage ditch to divert rain run off from the run.

mother nature has decided we need not one
but two storms in the tropics to aim at us.........

You folks down east been getting more than us but it wet nuff grass is growing-Think they got my email fixed yesterday got notices after 2:00

Looks like another lovely day, albeit with rain! I'm thankful we have good drainage, or I likely wouldn't think a rainy day a lovely thing!

Just hanging in, waiting on September 12 to see where we go from here. Seems like a loooonnnng way off!

Hello Everyone!! I hope you all have a wonderful day. Not much planned here as my house is under quarantine!! It appears that my 4mo old baby girl either has chicken pox or something similar as she has blisters on the tops of her hands (in between her fingers and toes as well), her bottom (like a nasty diaper rash only with crusty blisters) and an ugly rash up & down her arms & legs!! Waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can call to see if they want/need to see her or if it just has to run it's course!!

Chicken hatch: nothing new to update..all we could see were the 3 that we know have hatched...hoping to see if there are more under mama today!!

Yes, this was a Blue Egg from one of my EE's (I have 10..lol). I get a double yoker from one (or 2) of them about once a week.

Quick question. I have a duccle rooster and I'm not sure her understands that crowing all day is NOT ok for right now. If he had more room or anything else would he crow less often? or do I just let him do his thing?
