North Carolina

I would call this color "pied"
Any ideas on breed? Hes probably a mix. His brother from the same guy turned out full swede, his sister is half swede.

I finally found an exotic vet (within a reasonable driving distance) !!

Not only will he neuter my rabbit, he can take care of my birds, should the need ever arise. Best part is, he is located 10 minutes away from my grandparents house in Kannapolis so if we arrive early, we can hang out there until time for the appointment.
Since I had my first few babies die, I've been trying to find a vet close by just in case I get another case of wry neck or an unexplained death. Well, I'm off to bed, have a good night, or morning, depends on what time you log on I suppose

Old folks wake up early just wait-I was up at 3:30 rareing to go

OH NO!! Does that mean I fall into the "old folks" category if I was wide awake at 2:30?? Or am I safe because I was up feeding a baby?? At least ONE of us was able to go back to bed...LOL

Busy day in store for me. SUPER EXCITED!! Today I get my guineas, ducks and most importantly some quality fellowship time with some great BYC friends!! The bad part: it's going to be a BUSY day!! We have the revolving door today!!
Super annoyed: we've lived in this house now for 2 years...our home was built in 2006 (so not "old" by housing standards) and it already needs new windows!! I opened up the house the other day when the weather was absolutely WONDERFUL to find the seals literally crumbling and not ONE window was actually making a complete seal (so all that wonderful pollen, dirt, grass was coming IN while all of our air/heat was going OUT!!)!! GRR. We have a few companies coming tonight (along with one of the builders for our garage) coming to give us estimates. I guess when it rains it pours!?! Now to see how much money things are going to cost then spend time cuddling with some chicks, ducks & guineas...maybe even a BABY to make it all go away!! hehe

ETA: PICTURE TIME!! 7 biddies: 2 yellow, 1 brown/yellow, 1 yellow/gray, 1 black, 1 blue grey/yellow, 1 blue gray!! LOL...any guesses on what my male/female ratio will be. My first hatch was 100% male, my 2nd hatch was about 50/50. Here's to 10/90?!? LOL

FIRST EGG TODAY!!!
wee.gif

What a pleasant surprise this morning! It was a tiny little pale brown egg, almost white! I thought Wyandotte's laid dark brown eggs...anyway it is about half the size of a normal egg, not bad for her first one!!

I think this is the Proud Mama! She seemed to be intrigued by it when I walked over to the coop and found it.

Now If I can figure out how to teach them to use the nesting boxes...I have a golf ball, wooden eggs, and porcelain eggs, and still the sand out in the run under the water was more appealing....

Can't wait to crack this sucker open and have breakfast....with the help of 2 store bought eggs (FOR NOW!)

P.S. do you have a rooster with them? If so .... when your girls get laying good, I would be interested in buying some eggs to hatch.
