I was talkin to a friend and she said she rigged a video camera aimed at the nest box, zoomed in so she could see the eggs after the hens got up.
sounds like that could work

Congrats on the first egg, always exciting! More than likely they will find the nest box, when they first start though it's like oops what just fell out of my rear end?Well, we got our first egg yesterday which was very exciting; but much to our chagrin one of our girls laid it in the housing portion of the coop on the pine shavings and NOT in the nest box which we had built and prepared including wooden eggs to let them know where to lay. I'm hoping that this is just a mistake on her part and hope that the other four girls don't follow suit. I never thought I'd be so excited about an egg! It was also the best tasting egg I have ever had! YUM!
Hi andHi folks. Just found the NC thread. Glad to see so many people around my area. Our flock is outside of Hope Mills in Grays Creek...
