Good Morning everyone!!
Thank you Hollow for the advice... now to wait and see what DH wants to do. I shared with him your thoughts, so we'll see!! I mentioned to him the whole "must be bred to produce milk" scenario and that all 3 of what we're looking at are herd animals so we'd need more than just 1...I think I have him leaning towards a Nubian Goat and the second is still undecided. We don't actively drink milk, so it would just be for cooking & cheese making - and the kiddos -one drinks raw milk as if it was her last meal...she will put the cup down and say, "Mommy it tastes GOOD" and proceed to try and get every last drip.
I can honestly see her trying to "milk" the animals by just going out there and "feeding" off the teat!! May I ask you one more question? You're best guestimate (hehe love that word that's not a word) - how much could one expect to pay for a milking goat or sheep??
Thank you SO much for being so helpful. I don't know what i'd do without "my" BYC'ers!!
Busy next couple of days for us here...I hope you all are having a great morning and end with a great day!!
