Darn!!! And I thought looking out for 20 was fun!! Good thing you are losing (going to others) alot of them. They are fun but lot of work those first couple of days.... By the way, where did you get them from????

Ordered form Ideal. That is just the tip of the iceburgh here... I have at least 50 other chicks in the brooder room...formally known as the laundry room.

Feathered shanks on Wendy. Maybe bantam cochin? I'm not real good with chicks, so that's a wild guess.

BETH...Love the babies. I can't wait for mine!

Diggs: I agree with RF, the top chick looks like it may be silkie. The blueish/black....does it have feathered legs? I will say Marans, that is the only thing on the list blue besides the Andalusian and I am pretty sure it is not that.

Diana: 28 chicks were already picked up....21 more more leave Sat. That leaves me 33 chicks. 4 are spoken for and I am waiting a response on another 6.

I will end up with 15. A good # for my laying flock...assuming they all survive to adults.

So after an "emergency" call to a certain BYC'er as well as a few "emergency" texts...I think that my chickens....have chicken pox!! It's much more fun to say chicken pox rather than Avian Pox...LOL. Right now, only the Buff Orphingtons are showing black spots on their combs but I am preparing for the worse.

After processing day, I have come to realize that a)my freezer will be rather full and b)I will have virtually NO laying females. Guess I should get on replenishing my layers...hehe, good thing I know a few enablers and addicts who will gladly help me with my "problem"!! <coughs> BETH <coughs> LOL

On a fun note, my sex link male who is only 4 months old...is BIGGER than my almost 7 month old orpington/cochin mutt!! Woot!! Thanks Alex!!

ETA: DH came home early today and is outside building me a processing table!! WOOHOO. I am abundantly blessed by this man!!
