Wild Coopscoop knows of a trick to sex them

Tick the chicks were Bheps and she took them to actuion where Luke bought them, not knowing they were hers

Ok, following this post, I guess Luke had them, put them up for auction and your bid was highest???? If they, the chicks were up for auction...
Was this open bidding or sealed if you don't mind me asking, I mean you know each other and all. seems funny that one had them and the other wanted them but you bidded on them not knowing who they were from.... again, I am a noob to all of this..

I brought the chicks to the auction.....Luke bid and won the chicks. When we all left, my kids saw Luke with the box of chicks. Then he posted pictures.
When you brings animals to the auction they are in wooden crates or cardboard box for chicks. There is an auctioneer and attendants that show the birds.

Happy Birthday NH......sure hope you had lots of fun
and got your cake!!!!!

Wild......I use to race pigeons and some the guys
I raced with showed me the magnet trick.....easy to make.
Get some of that magnet strip from craft store or Wal-Mart,
the one with a sticky side, cut two strips about 2-3 inches
long and stick them together with the like poles together,
north to north, south to south, put a hole in one end
and run a string through the hole. hang over the bird while
holding the bird in one hand, swing the magnet on the
end of the string in a circle and then hold your hand still
let the magnet slowly quit swinging. If it starts to swing
beak to tail, it's a cock..wing to wing is a hen. This works
for homing pigeons and rollers.....never tried it on fantails.
Good luck

Howdy, Neighbor! I'm between Fayettevile and Lumberton.

Good Morning, Happy People!

I got an email yesterday that my chicks have shipped!?!?!
idunno.gif
Apparently, the order Ideal said they couldn't fill, and therefore I haven't been planning on and been placing other orders, has been filled in some fashion and shipped!
barnie.gif
I'll be calling them today to find out exactly what they shipped, and then split the Juvenile Detention Center so these will have some space. I've always liked Ideal, but I find this a bit irritating. What if I had decided to go out of town because my order got canceled?

In fact, I AM going out of town, but just for the day on Thursday.

No use to start off a new day grumpy, though. I'll call them and find out how many chicks are heading my way and then prep for them. It's not the chicks fault!

Have a wonderful day!

SO....the dern hawks are back.......I decided that the two white birds I had in the pen needed to go down to the shop in the breeder pens. I hope that gets rid of the problem, seeing as when I didn't have any light colored birds it was rare to see hawks but I recently purchashed two white birds and now there is 2 or 3 hawks hanging out!!!

In other news Momma Red is supposed to hatch tomorrow or turkeyday!!!! Have a good day everyone!

to Hollowoakfarm and others who order online.
I had some chicks shipped (first time) to me from MYPETCHICKEN and they came to ok and all. (Nov 5th)
My question is.. I know the shipping is high and worth it, but....
That does raise the price of chickens skyhigh.
My flock was getting older and the new babies are turning out to be more boys than girls, which is why I ordered online.
Does the extra money make it worth it knowing you most likely have girls????
Are you ordering birds you can not get locally???
or is it knowing you will have new chicks now and not have to wait til spring/summer???

Out of my hatched chicks it looks like a 75/25, boys over girls.
Still not really sure on the last nine but from what I have learned here, I figure half maybe more.

I love this guy...

And a good morning to you all on this overcast day.....
My biddies want to play outside, til they get outside.....
then it's back to the back door wanting in....

Thats annoying but YAY for more chicks!!!!

I learned a pretty good lesson today.....when you know someone who works for the town and he tells you they are picking up leaves.....you get a bright idea to ask for a load and use the leaves as chicken pen bedding.......you ask for 2 loads.

Somehow when he said SMALL load you had it in your mind it was actually going to be a SMALL load......that is a 75lb german shepherd for scale....

Now to worry about WHERE to put the other load. LOL
