NORTH CENTRAL FLA "BYC" SWAP (UPDATES) post #1/JAN.16th/Dunnellon, Fl.

that sucks so sorry for you to have neighbors like that....some people just do no like to get up to that

That really bites. If you're allowed to have them, could you deal with confronting him? Calob must be heartbroken!

What a great swap....Aleida, your place is fabulous. Anyone who thinks Florida is flat should see this area. Its awesome, really rolling hills. Makes me want to go move there right now. Thanks for the cage, needed it badly. May have to pony up for another one, they are really spiffy. Sold out all my wheaton Ameraucanas, so Im swapped out for a bit.

The swap was a lot of fun. Thank you to the host. We bought two hens from the guy in the van and my husband brought home a rooster that he got from Eric (The Pampered Pullets Farm), which I can not be blamed for this time.

Well, Calob is actually okay with him going to my Uncle's in Old Town (something for him to look forward to when we visit), and my uncle said he would be happy to take them because he wants to do some breeding. I think it will all be okay if my neighbor can chill till next weekend.

I am about to post pics of the new coop in the coop design thread...check it out!

Well, I knew it would happen. Chester was exercising his vocal chords this morning (bright and early) and pretty much non stop. We were laughing at him. DH got up to take the dog out and low and behold, the next door neighbor egged his truck and threw quite a few eggs in our yard.

I spoke with my uncle and he said he would be happy to take sweet Chester but he lives 2 hours away. I'm afraid the neighbor may come and do something worse next

Whether it is legal or not to have chickens where you are at, I would have been on the phone to the sheriffs office in a heart beat. That is malicious mischief and uncalled for. If they were adults about it they could have come and talked to you but instead they have to be little butt heads. If you knew for sure that it was your neighbors then you would have had a leg to stand on. We can all bring trailer loads of roos over to visit you at about 6am and park in front of their house and then see what they do. You get 50 people with 50 roosters all in harmony at 6am and they might think twice about messing with a fellow peep.

Well thanks to Debra aka floridamama i made it! Way to pack a car full of birds and people!! LOL Happy to see everyone again and meet new peeps! I am sorry i couldn't bring anything but next time the ol VW bus will be up and running!!!
Brought home some chicks and quail from Will and they are doing reallly well! They love their new home.......................

OH, i second that Annika having 2 goats in the back of her car was the FUNNIEST thing i have ever seen at a swap!! hahaha
Glad to see some of our central florida breeders club members show up aka Walter & Billy. They had the birds right when you walked in the barn. See ya at the next swap~
