NORTH CENTRAL FLA "BYC" SWAP (UPDATES) post #1/JAN.16th/Dunnellon, Fl.

Here are more pictures of some of the cages we are building. They still need a little finishing work so are not completely finished. We built these out of materials we had left over from other projects. We will be building more cages with different wire . Also, we do plan on building some Chicken Tractors but haven't gotten that far yet. Hopefully we will have some built for our January 16th, Swap.

If you have pictures of birds or other items you plan on bringing to our swap and would like to post them, please do so. As an old saying goes, "one picture is worth a thousand words".

Here is a finished cage of ½" x ½" wire mesh that is 36"long x 18"tall x 18" deep. I'm asking $35.00. It is made up of small mesh wire so that it can be used to transport chicks.

Here is a smaller cage that is 24"long x 18"tall x 24" deep. I am asking $25.00. It is also made up of small mesh wire so that it too can be used to transport chicks.

My own personal cage that I use is made of wire ½" x 1". I have had no problems with their tiny little feet going through the wire

I will have these cages and similar ones at our January 16th, Swap. If anyone would like a cage built of spacific dimensions, we can do it. Also we can use whatever mesh wire you would like.

Yes. We built them that way as we thought it would be easier access than the front door types.

We have a small kitchen availble with a stove w/oven, microwave and fridge if anyone will need them. I have paper plates and utensils and some condiments (salt, pepper, ketsup, mustard etc.). Some swaps I have been to have no restrooms, we do have a restroom. Also, there will be electricity available for those bringing chicks and plenty of water. It may be chilly. In either case we will have a campfire for anyone wishing to roast hotdogs or anything else they may want to do (marshmellows).

Also We thought we could have a Fun Match. A Fun Match is where everybody get some tickets and envelopes will be attached to cages of the animals of people who would like to show their animals. People will put their tickets into the envelopes of the animals they like the best. The one with the most tickets in their envelope wins the show. Also we can have 2nd, 3rd, 4th places etc. If anyone is interested in this please let us know.
