Here is a link to the ordinances. If I remember correctly, chickens are not listed, so I would call the city and ask to be sure. I cannot get the link thing to work from the iPad, so just copy and paste the address below into your browser window.Hi,Do you know if the city of mandan will let you have chickens in town.
Hey everybody Im a newbie from Rugby!! Not sure how this works yet.LOL
I have ummm... 4 geese, 5 White Holland turkeys, a Regal Red tom, a few Buff turkeys, 6 peafowl, and for chickens I have a few each Ameraucana, Easter Eggers, Chantecler, Cochin, Black Copper Marans, and Brown Leghorn. I hope I didn't leave anyone out...I have Buffs and Ameraucanas hens and a Barred Rock rooster. I had a few hens that were barred rocks and they were just nasty to the rest of the hens. Made really tasty soup though!! I am going to do different breeds this year and get my flock up, redo a new and bigger coop. I want to have them laying during the winter so I need to make some major changes. Oh and I also have a Burbon Red turkey hen . She is a major hoot to have around..
I have only been in North Dakota for 3 years Im originally from Arizona. How did I get here from there you ask!! Short version girl meets her prince charming over the internet, they meet its love at first sight literally, and they get married!! Now Im a farmers wife living an absolute amazing life. Its been a whirlwind adventure in adapting to living here. Everything is so different from gardening to raising animals. So I may be bending everyones ears for advise.
What do you raise? And do you free range? Do you raise for meat and eggs? Are pretty close to Minot then? Still learning my way around.LOL
