Lol it originally had a solid topl, my husband made it for a wood box and extra seating but then I got chicks and he grudgingly revamped it for me. It is still a sore subject for him.
 
Thanks, I want to do something like this in the coop so I can integrate chicks easier in the future.
There's a workbench in my coop that the nesting boxes are on, but underneath is my broody hen area and brooder area (2 different section). I haven't fully finished the brooder area, but hubby doesn't want the baby chicks in the house anymore, so that's on the list for this weekend. These pictures were from the construction time and just after putting the chickens in:






Anyone happen to notice one of my white ameraucana hens got her tushi stuck in the chicken door? lol. That got replaced the next morning.

I'll get a better picture of my broody area when I get home tonight... or this weekend... or sometime...
