The smallest and the largest are white Ameraucana. Then there's a quail, a blue Ameraucana, and a buff silkie.
I hope so, my poor roo's breast muscle is virtually non existant, after treatment for cocci I plan on worming him, hopefully he survives long enough for me to figure out what is wrong with him. otherwise I'll have to go begging for a split to choc am roo or a choc am hen. And finding those for sale is like finding hen's teeth at the moment. The rest sounds very healthy![]()
Oh I know, finding any specific AM's is difficult yet. Does he have any hens that are producing eggs ATM? Start collecting if you can.I hope so, my poor roo's breast muscle is virtually non existant, after treatment for cocci I plan on worming him, hopefully he survives long enough for me to figure out what is wrong with him. otherwise I'll have to go begging for a split to choc am roo or a choc am hen. He did. She stopped laying and none of the 18 eggs I set were fertilized. I'm hoping he can bounce back long enough for me to get something out of him. I'm thinking I've narrowed it down to Cocci or worms. I hope I'm right and can get him on the mend.Oh I know, finding any specific AM's is difficult yet. I'm double checking with a local breeder friend of mine to see what she breeds. I think it's some kind of white turkey but I'll let you know.
Some day I want the Narragansett. But not yet. I think we're in over our heads right now lol@kirkie
My breeder friend, Nancy, said:
"I raise only Heritage variety; Midget White, Beltsville White & Narragansett. Broadbreasted turkeys have to be artificially inseminated to reproduce because they cannot breed naturally. Best place to purchase those are hatchery or when feed stores have them."
I think I saw them at North 40 in Spokane valley, possibly.
Hi All,
I live in Palouse, WA. I have Bielefelders and Silkies.
