North Korea video planning on blowing up New York City

I don't understand why the Lancasters were buried - or why they haven't been dug up and sold to enthusiasts.

North Korea has carried out a nuclear test, accompanied by the opinion of a Western Expert that the military is running the country. Neither is a surprise. North Korea is frequently threatened and a militaristic government knows only one way to respond to that.

Military leaders around the world thrive on conflict, real or imagined. It's keeps them in jobs, gives them political influemce and feeds the arms industry. In certain countries, they also get rich as individuals through corrupt purchase deals.

So very true thaiturkey! What between those who are out and out villains looking for conflict, and those who imagine everyone else in the world is gunning for them I wonder we have any peace in this world at all!!

I think that the worst enemy is paranoia that feeds the requirements of the military and those businesses that feed off war.

Maybe we should just disband our military. I'm sure every one else would also. I'm sure we are just paranoid. Then we can disband all the businesses that the defense department supports. We can teach all those workers how to knit sweaters and blankets.

I don't get how any of you think that there's peace to maintain. The United States is at war. The Middle East is still tearing itself apart. Africa apparently looks like a big, juicy target to the U.S. and the E.U. now. Heck, even without our intervention, Africa is tearing itself apart.

Peace? There is no peace, and I, personally, believe that humans will be slaughtering each other until Judgment Day.

Are you suggesting that one purpose of an army is to feed the 'military industrial complex'? If so I agree with you. That's the cleft stick that many countries are caught in.
