I went ahead and took the plunge and applied for a job in Anchorage!!!!

It's just an office assistant job, but hopefully I will get it!!!

Hubby has been on the comp. for weeks now looking for jobs as a firefighter and I went on and saw they were hiring about 4 OA's, so I put in my application.

Wish me luck!!!

Congrats! Hope all goes well. Alaska is great always things to see and enjoy. Even after 26 years and my mom is the same way and she has been here since 62. Good luck for both you and your hubby.

I just Google Earthed, "Delta Junction"... interesting farms there with pine trees down the middle of fields... is that to stop drifting snow?

Alaska is a great place to live! and anchorage is a grea community. beautiful too. there are a LOT of moose there, don't pet them. they're very dangerous, not kidding

but hooray! i go to anchorage about four times a year. triple D's farm & feed store is there and also Alaska Mill & Feed. you will love it, trust me. we have more harley owners, we are home to the heaviest cabbage and we purchase more ice cream than the rest of the US.

you will LOVE it!

Depending on who and where you are looking some of the berm rows are where the area was cleared first the trees were all pushed with dozers. Others are tree rows that seperate one persons field from the other. And yes they do help with snow from drifting. I dont care if my fields drift just as long as it dont around my house lol There are some winters when the snow drifts so bad it is almost as tall as a combine. Delta is known for our wind all while growing up I never understood why people got upset down south for winds at 80mph and such with a tornado or whatever. Thats just a weekend wind to us at times of the year.
