Northeastern Poultry Congress 2015

I've written this in my calender for the whole day of the 17th. We attended on Sunday last year and felt the 3-4 hours was enough but this year would like to experience the going ons for Saturday!!

I'll be going to this for the first time. Definitely looking forward to it!! This will be my first poultry show, so any thoughts or comments on what I should expect would be greatly appreciated.

Yay! Just found out that I will be able to steward at the Northeast Poultry Congress next Saturday. The judges are: Jeff Halbach, Jackie Koedatich, Erik Nelsen, Troy LaRoche, & Danny Padgeant.Expect to see a lot of nice birds and learn a lot from whoever they pair me up with.

Oh how EXCITING!!!

What a fabulous opportunity. Hope you get to work with a couple different judges.

Anyone have a schedule of events and speakers?? Last year Joseph from Yellow House Farm was speaking but we got lost in the city for an hour and missed him. I was so disappointed. We did get a tour by a knowledgeable old timer and learned a boat load. I definitely recommend the tour even if to learn one nugget of info.

If you do go, find me and say hi. The Congress is also the PR National Meet this year, so there should be a good turn out of Rocks. The Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club will have a table there, so be sure to check it out.

Newbie here. We are going on Saturday! If I was to buy chickens there, what ages are they? We live about 1.5 hours away. What would I need to bring them home? I'm getting 6 baby chicks in April. I would be able to add them when they are older right?

IF you have cat carriers that can work well. Or a medium carrier for several. My suggestion is to crate birds from different pens separately.

In the past I attended a sheep show/sale at that same venue, with the intention of learning and not buying, a morning turned into a lonnnng day as DH had to drive back home and bring the truck. lol

I'm considering bringing a few crates.
