We live downstate as of now but we have property in the UP just outside paradise! We love it up there sooo much making a trip up at the end of the month matter of fact but just for the weekend

My pop lived in the western end for years!

We/I lived in lower MI for years near the Ann Arbor area (Pinckney/Hell). We moved to the UP in 1989. Actually I was born in Elk Valley, TN - I just sort of keep migrating north... LOL We have 40 acres and would love to post pictures but can't get it to work? Any suggestions? I love living in the UP - have never regretted the move. Our zip code is around 1200 people if that... LOL
My neighbor is ordering chickens and will raise the chicks to pullets for me (I don't think she trusts me to raise babies and not kill them... lol)
