Northern NY Chickenstock: June 25th 2011 aka "Lovinstock"

I am going to start pottery class again soon. I'd like to make a bunch of little bowls to then make homemade beeswax candles in them. The great thing is the clay and glazes are food safe, dishwasher and microwave safe. When the candle is burned out, you wash it out and have a useful dish. Now to track down some beeswax.....

It's on my list. Next to goats...cause I want to make goat cheeses and ice cream, and goat soap. Saw an ad for some bees on CL...thinking about calling the people.

Bees, emus, and goats, oh my!

We had bees in our house when we first bought it. They had gotten in under the siding. The house was empty for 2 years before we got it. Anyway, they had a huge amount of combs in the walls, the funny thing is when we were renovating the outside of the house, siding etc, we had to replace some wood, but the honey preserved all the wood it came in contact with.

You know when I was a kid if I asked are we there yet? I would get the " do you want me to stop this car and come back there?".

That is what I think of when you say that.

We never went anywhere when I was a kid. My parents didn't do the vacation thing so I never got to say that to them. I made up for it in my 20's and now again in my late thirties and early forties by travelling a LOT.

Are we there yet?

That's why the coveted seat was directly behind my dad, so when we said that he couldn't smack us cuz his arm didn't bend that far back! The downside to it was if you had your window open when he emptied his pipe ashes out the window, ya got a nice face full!
