How big do they get when they are full grown?

Hollands 4-5 lbs. Mini lops are 6ish pounds

I think I need some of each!!

Yup, gotta have two, one of each, real cute with the big floppy ears, chewing their hay, running up to the cage when they hear you jiggle the treat pouch........nice, easy cage to clean, dump the litterbox every other day...........can't resist them....................

Ya'll need them for their POO! Plus...you should get one from 2 different bloodlines.

I really want one...dh said no. Ugh....it's just like living with my parents! LOL:p

I will have litters from 2 different lines. My solid blue buck over a broken blue tort (charlie) mom. This litter will be all broken colors. Last litter she had was broken blues and broken blue tort.

The other litter will be Broken blue boy over solid blue tort mom. I can not wait to see what these two will produce. Should be some solids and some brokens.

I can also breed some holland/mini lops. These babies are usually slightly bigger than pure Hollands and their ears are a little longer.

Ooo, I know nothing about bunny colors, but they sound pretty. So, do you just keep them in pairs?

They really are so darn cute. If you socialize them well and early they are just little lap pets.

DD is looking for a home for her standard silver Rex doe (the velveteen rabbit). She weighs about 8 lbs and is summer nice. She was a litter trained house bunny until we built a bunny barn.

No. If you have one of each you will be overrun with offspring (they breed like bunnies

).

The only way to keep them together is to get two males and have the neutered. Sometime...but not always a mother & daughter or two sisters will be cage mates. The problem is at maturity those hormones start geting in the way and one will be mean to the other. Bunnies can hurt each other badly in a real fight, especially with these long ears and very sharp teeth.

Ok, so I need separate cages and no boys unless I want lots of babies?

OK, back form chores. You can have both they just need to be separate. If you do not plan to breed I would suggest 2 of the same sex. I would also suggest separate cages. If they are house bunnies they will love to come out and play and do their (we call them binkies) flips and jumps. Ours like to play with little plush toys - like tose little stuffed McDs toys. They will be OK with each other to play but they will have their own space to go to for a break and what not. This is much like a crate trained dog really.

The most mellow pet bunny is IMHO a neutered male bunny. Nuetered early like 6-8 months old.

I picked up our piglet tonight!

Edited to add....those are RAISINS!

He's huddled in the crate getting acclimated to house noises...ie 4 dogs, 20-some-odd chicks, the parakeets, kids, karaoke (that's right!) and the cat keeps crawling in the crate with him!
