It sounds like the interest is building which is great!! I checked with our 4H person about maybe having it at the livestock pavillion again. She suggested having it as maybe a "kick-off" event for the 4H Chicken Project. If we did this we could justify using the pavilion. The chicks for this project will come in the first week of May. We used this building at the last swap in Oct. & it works out great. We were under cover (even though it was cold & got colder as the day went!) had plenty of parking, restrooms. the BB Club sold concessions, had a cake walk & bingo.

I don't mind putting something together but only if the interest is great enough. Although I know the weather played a BIG part in keeping lots of you home at the last swap we can't really justify using the pavillion all day for about 3 or 4 of us bringing chickens to swap. This building usually rents for around $200 per day. By connecting it to the Chicken Project they just ask we give a donation that would go straight into our 4H general funds program which benefits all of the 4H clubs. Last year we ask $3 per seller as the donation.

Thoughts anyone??

Why dont you use a town name or at least some more info than "local livestock pavilion" Im pretty sure I know where that is but using that term only makes it sound like everyone should know what that is an if they dont then they are to far to worry about going.

If it is where I think it then it will cost me a good $70 to drive from here(real NWGa

) to there so not worried about $3.

Without directions to a real place you wont get much interest. An probably not that much till you have a set date an time.

Byron,
As for me having the 4H connection and combine with their chicken project kickoff would be the time to have have a swap.
The pavillion is in Buchanon and is a very good place. Shelter so no tents are needed, plenty of good parking, and easy access off Us hwy 27.

I though yall were talking about the pavilion at the NWGa fare ground. Its a good hour an a half south east of me anyway. But yall are 3 hours south of me so I will have to pass. Little far for my farm truck.

I think 3.00 per seller is extremenly FAIR !!!! If all goes well we will be there . What about donating "chicken" items for a raffle ?? I could bring some eggs ... Just a thought .
