Northwest Indiana

I've had my chickens for a year now! I was well aware that they were illegal when I set out to get some. I talked to all my neighbors and received they're blessing on the matter before I made the final decision. We love our girls and I'm so happy things have worked out so well for us so far! We have 2 barred rocks and a red sex link!

Glad to hear your neighbors are on board. I have a Bantam rooster that crows in the morning, I love it but we will see how long before neighbors complain.
Check out Chicago Chicken Enthusiasts at Chicagochickens.org.
They do a Windy City Coop Tour that is interesting. I am thinking of submitting my coop to add once I add a few more girls.
It was nice to see another Hammond person on this site.

Good evening everyone. I am from Northwest Indiana, we got our little cuties April 1st. They are a riot to watch. We have 2 ducks, 2 bantams (not sure of the type) and 4 golden comets, so we were told. They look like red sex links to me. Nice to know there are others who keep chickens near us ~

Please join me, bring the KIDS!
This Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, I will be opening my yard from 10-2 for the 5th Annual Windy City Coop Tour. It's the first time in Indiana and it's free! Please stop in and see my coop and hens and my garden. Go to Chicagochickens.org for map and instructions.

HI, I just got the notification, I haven't been on here much. We live near Lowell, on the other end of the county from you. I will check out the site you suggested. We have been trying to get our coop ready for winter, this will be our first one with the chicks.

Peace & Blessings ~
