I'm so excited! Woke up this morning to the most beautiful chick I have ever seen kicking around in my incubator(along with 2 more pips right now).

Thanks, Alpinefarms for sharing your beautiful babies with me!

Could somebody give me a heads up on sexing these chicks? I know it is done by color as day olds, but I can't find crud all on the internet about them that is in a language I can understand.

Oh! I'm so happy to hear about your chicks! How many did you get total? Aren't they incredibly gorgeous chicks?!

Best wishes raising them. And *thank you* for the kind comments.

(I'm sorry to be slow to see your note...I've been busy with a family get-together and away from the computer for a while.)

They are pretty easy to tell apart. The little cockerels have a lot more white on their heads. The pullets are plainer. If you can post pics, I can help you that way.

They are LF. Though smallish LF, lightweight. The pullets are much smaller than my Speckled Sussex or Welsummers or EEs, yet they lay the same size egg. The roosters are tall and gangly.

I unexpectedly have a "long" (generous!) dozen eggs that are boxed and ready to ship...Please PM me if you are interested!

$35 incl shipping (USPS Priority w/delivery confirmation).
Carefully and lovingly packaged!

A recent BYCer's experience with my eggs:

"5 are out one is zipping and 4 more are pipped! It looks great. The 5 chicks (so far) are beauties. I can't remember how many you sent (ordered 12) , but of the 13 that made it to lockdown (and those were all moving) 10 are in some stage of hatching or hatched. Awesome odds, especially coming all the way to Alaska! If you want to use a quote from me regarding the quality of your eggs please feel free. Your eggs are terrific and people should know it."
