Not a Buff Orp

I got them at a poultry show in IowaCity, Iowa last fall. This older gentleman and his wife had some birds for sale. He didn't seem thrilled to be selling them, I think his wife was kinda pushing him

. I bought this pair of wyandottes, a Black Orp roo and 3 blue orp hens. He charged me $45.00, I think I got a good deal.

He had to talk to me for a while before he would even talk price. I think mama was making him reduce his flock

After seeing the pic of your buff, looks like everyone is correct about it being a buff wyandotte. Here is another pic of one. Look familiar?

Yea yogi, the more I look at wyandotts ( darn Before I just typed orp...that was easier, less letters) the more I see the similarity. They seem like about the same kinda bird as orps as far as temperament etc, etc. I've got a small breeding pen ready for just them two

I love my wyandottes. The winter doesn't seem to phase them at all. Nice layers and good temperment.
