Let us know how it goes!

Well, i will be taking my little man to the vet tomorrow. he seems to have gotten worse. i also found out that they are prone to Patellar Luxation. so that is something i looked up.. perhaps. I am not sure. i am hoping it's nothing major but it seems it is.

Good luck Sue! (And I just want you to know that I did consult with my vet regarding the baby asprin and the glyncosamin treats were from her office.) If your vet doesn't mention them, ask her or him about those two things....they really work wonders.

well, i took him to the vet but he's not even real sure what it could be but he did say if the others were rough housing with him it could have herniated a disc in his back. and thats kind of what it looks like. so... he put him on steriods, and antibiotics. and im supposed to bring him in next week again.. and if he looks worse.. sooner. oh and he also did some chiropractic adjustments on him. when i brought him home, he seemed.. a bit better.. i dunno how to explain but his tail wasn't tucked between his legs anymore.. it was more straight out from his butt then it had when we got there. I am just hoping that's all this is. i can't stand the heartache of losing him so young. he's only 5. so... if there is more news to post.. i will

dunno if anyone is reading this yet, but i haven't noticed any improvement. in fact, i don't think he's eaten or drank anything for a day or better. not sure how to make him eat or drink. he don't even want the piece of cooked bacon (the day we brought him home from the vet, he gobbled it up)

i don't know what im gonna do. im gonna call the vet when he's done with his farm calls. and see what he says. i didn't pay much the first time.. not sure how much more i can afford at this time

ugh. but i don't want him in pain either. im getting depressed.. not sure what to do. thanks for listening/reading.

hang in there chickeypoo, it sometimes takes over 24 hrs for the steroids to reduce enough swelling to lessen the pressure on the nerves that are causing pain.

You may want to baby him with hand feeding and watering b/c dehydration can make him feel even worse than he does now and he needs water to make the medications work well. milk is sometimes more than what a pup can resist and can offer liquid and nutrition in one.

Also, if your slowly poke over his legs and spine and can find a tender spot or two, you could try alternating hot and cold packs (no more than 15 minutes of either one at a time) on the tender spots.

Take care of you and yours,

well, i called the vet and he said to wait till tomorrow. so it's not like *im* the one waiting to go. he will be getting another adjustment tomorrow to make sure. but until then... i bought everything *I* thought a dog woudl want to eat lol. i bought a bag of treats, a jar of baby food(chicken and gravy) a jar of baby meat sticks, chicken turkey and ham pieces from the self serve deli, beneful gravy dog food.. i think that's all i bought him. i got home, opened up the jar of baby food, and let him sniff it.. he didn't want to start licking it right out of the jar. he ate nearly half! then i took his hard dry food and put it in a pan with water and boiled it so it could soak in and become softer. then i added the juice from the meat sticks, and mixed in some of the chicken baby food with the soggy watery dog food, and let it cool. i gave it to him and he drank the liquid, and ate almost a whole cup of the dog food. Im ecstatic to say the least! now.. since it was warm(and he's hairless) he quit shivering. it's not cold in my house.. but it's been raining. i did cover him up with a blanket and he just lays there with it. if i have to heat and boil his food to make him eat i will. if he still can't walk after this... anyone got a doggy cart i can have? lol.

he's sleeping all sprawled out now. happy to have eaten something good im sure.

so we took him back to the vet today.. and had another adjustment. and he seems to be doing a bit better. he doesn't drag his toes as badly as before and can get his feet flat sometimes. and he also is eating quite a bit more(with added water to make a soggy mess but still.. eating
smile.png
) he also moves a bit faster than before. but he still doesn't want to do more than needed. he did poop today on his own. (the other day he pooped but it was in his kennel, so i wasn't sure if he could stand and poop... but he did today).. so with the vet said.. keep an eye on him and we will play it by ear
