I found a young robin hopping around my yard, my ducks and chickens chasing it, i caught it and have it in a cardboard box on my table. Unfortunately there are no wildlife rehabilitaters anywhere near by at all. So it’s up to me it is missing wing and tail feathers, tail only has one left, it’s got a wound under its wing but it looks like an old healed up wound so what can I do for it

How old is it? I think you can feed, water, and house it just like a pet bird for a while. Just read up on its specific diet.

I’m not sure. Old enough to have all its feathers but not like full adult I don’t think I can try getting photos of it later

Can you ask a vet for this? They might have it.

Is it trying to fly and move around? Does it seem injured other than the feathers?
It tries to fly and jump and run and stuff but because of all the missing feathers it just can’t. Like I said it’s one wound seems old

I looked up what robins eat and it said this.

  • Earthworms, insect larvae, grubs, caterpillars, and snails
  • Spiders, beetles, grasshoppers, termites, crickets, and other insects
  • Berries such as blueberries, mulberries, winterberries, juniper, honeysuckle, and holly
  • Small tree fruits including cherries, crabapples, chokecherries, dogwood, and hawthorn
  • Vine fruits such as wild and domesticated grapes
