Not a Marans then what is it? UPDATE New Pictures added

I thought at first that this chick would be a Marans Roo. But out of the 16 Marans, 6 look to be Roos and they are not this color. They are light grey with white barring, the pullets are black with white barring.

This one I am not even sure it is a Marans now. Any ideas?

In the top picture you can see the difference, in what I believe to be a rooster (or would it be called cockeral??)

The cockerals tend to be much lighter in color that the pullets.

Katy, I would have to go look at the legs, but in the picture they look yellow.

This has me puzzled. Doesn't really matter much, just would like to satisfy my curiosity. I think she/he is pretty.

If his legs are yellow he's not a Marans...they have white legs.

Did you hatch these birds or did you buy chicks? The bird in the center of the first picture does not look to be a Marans. Could it be a "free" chick (if you bought from a hatchery)? If you could get some closer shots (but not too close!) we might be able to make out some of the details better.

I got them from the feed store. He/she was in with the Marans.

It is too late now, but I will try for a closer picture sometime tomorrow.

OK, new pictures. Legs are for sure yellow. Hope someone knows what this chick is.

Would hate for it to go through life with an identity complex.

That bird does look a bit odd. It appears as though it has some barring (cuckoo), however, the stripes running down the center of each feather should not be there in the barred pattern. The silver breast is also out of place. I'm afraid that it appears to be some type of mixed breed. It may still grow up to be a beautiful bird, just not a Marans.
