I suppose that I should probably take a little bit of space to warn you that amputating a limb is not really a wise way to lose weight. In fact, almost all of the above suggestions are very poor.

My husband tried the amputate your leg diet 20 years ago. While he did lose about 15 lbs, he just gained it all back after we got married. They say that 90% of dieters gain back what they lost and then some.

OH no!!

My hubby had a work accident a year and a half ago - almost chopped BOTH legs off at the ankles..... he did break both, had surgeries etc.... I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose a leg!

Did your hubby come through okay?

He lives a completely normal life. He drives semi, climbs ladders, runs, coaches basketball and unlike most people has more than 2 left feet.

My hubby is fine, he does still have pain in his legs.... and nasty scars - I think the pain will get worse as he ages....

(ON a side note, let me tell you he OWES me for all that nursing I did!

he couldn't MOVE for at least a week, and then he could barely get himself into a wheelchair for a few moments - it was HELL for ME  )
