Not again 😣

That is good news!
How about you? all this stress.
It kinda took its toll, but I'm feeling somewhat better now that she's acting more normal... thanks for checking :)
I'm planning on gradually reducing her calcium, again
I'm more hopeful this time, now that her shells are thick again. But I'll reduce the dose gradually and keep monitoring closely

That doesn't sound wise to me. 😕 Is it cost prohibitive or something to keep dosing her? I think she's going to lean towards having chronic problems and needs the extra supplement.

She's gone from behaving normally and happily, to acting very odd, in a matter of half an hour or so.

Went out to spend a bit of time with them before bed, she seemed okay, I was content. Did some jobs in the pen, from behind me, I hear a mad rustle of feathers and see Sprightly running towards me, having tripped and fallen on her wings in the panic, I go investigate and see nothing, no cat, no fox, didn't even see a rat through the wire. Nothing there, it seemed
She is spooked none the less and Dougie is now standing tall and yelling. I go back to Sprightly and stroke her gently and she is literally shaking, she hides her face in my coat

She calms down, seems okay, but is still shaking. She starts standing a little odd, upper half lower to the ground (not touching) lower half up more (no, not flirting with Dougie or anything)
She is still trembling slightly, visibly, I can see her tail feathers and some of her body shaking.
As I put her to bed, I realise her bill is very hot, so are her legs.
After putting them to bed, I come back outside to check on them again
Sprightly has her tail level/occasionally pointing down, and slight trembling. She is also now panting with her mouth open (not heavily).

There is not a mark on her, I'm certain nothing hurt her, and it isn't hot outside, it's pleasantly cool, Dougie is fine

I'm a fair bit worried now, but my parents are very against me bringing her inside so I don't know what to do
Any thoughts?

I don’t know why I never got this tag
I’m going to keep reading the post and hopefully she has got better since

It's not the cost, it's just getting difficult to keep up with, she's started rejecting treats with it hidden in, and being a real handful trying to force it down her throat. She's figuring out ways to make it harder and I'm worried about making her choke.
Also, if I keep giving her high doses, and she ends up not needing the amount, I'm worried about her organs handling the excess calcium for a long period of time

She seems to be producing better shells now, and it's still possible the blip the other day was a broken/eaten egg. So I'm thinking reducing the amount gradually may be a good idea
If this is going to be a permanent thing, or something that ends badly, perhaps its worth trying to reduce it to see if her shells normalise or not, currently their only flaw is excess calcium.
so I'm just not sure. If I keep going forever, I can't imagine that's a good idea either 😕

I'm not sure how much would actually be too much when it comes to a female who's actively laying eggs. Certainly you wouldn't want to be giving it to her if she was broody or taking a break for the Winter. After I posted about the cost I actually realized it was probably more than daily fight of giving it to her. I know that would certainly be what I would get hung up on.

Finished the post
I would have no idea what got her all worked up
Just glad she settled and seems to be doing better
I’m crossing my fingers that she starts to sit soon
Daisys first time was 8 eggs then she stopped laying
But have heard other birds go for much larger clutches
We just need her to stop
She's laid.... more than 8, so far. I think more than 10. I'll need to go back and check dates to be sure of the exact number.
She's still sitting overnight and in the daytime she's being louder, fluffier... sometimes moodier. But she keeps not sitting in the daytime
