Hello guys and gals, I have a total of 5 hens that I got as babies in February. (2) production red's (2) barred rock's and (1) americauna. I have one brown egg and a bluish egg everyday. I had an incident where my red's and americauna got out one day and one of the red's laid an egg in my flower bed (which happens to be the very first egg I found) ever since then I have got one brown egg per day. Just this past week I started getting bluish colored eggs from my Americana. My barred rock hens are a bout two weeks younger than the rest of the flock so I'm guessing they will start laying in a couple of more weeks. But I'm worried about my other red. Is it normal for a couple of hens to start laying before the rest of the flock? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions

well, I'm now getting about 3 eggs per day from 5 hens. Does this seem right? I also recently found a 5ft rat snake in the nesting box. He had a golf ball in his stomach. ..lol he won't be eating any more of my eggs. ..

Now you'll be able to see how many they are really laying.
Not all birds lay every day...tho your production birds might lay 6-7 a week and the others 4-5-6 a week.
