I am only getting about three eggs a day. But I have about 16 hens. It's been cold lately, but it has been getting warmer lately. Its about 60°f out, and they are getting layer. Ten of the hens (8 wyondottes, and 2 ISA browns) are a year old. The other six (1 buff Orpington, three easter eggers, and two brahmas) are between two-three years old. Do you know why they might not be laying? Anything is helpful thanks!

They may not be getting enough daylight yet. It's the length of the day more than the temp that affects egg production. Do you provide artificial light?

Yes we put a light in there coop, and they have a fenced in area with no snow, for them to get natural light and to run around.

How long is the light on daily?
..and when did you put it in the coop?

Did the older birds molt last fall/winter?

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

I've had that problem too. I was able to increase egg production by giving my hens more protein snacks with hulled sunflower seeds and soldier worms. It probably costs more than buying eggs, but what can we do... https://www.amazon.com/FlukerS-1500...&keywords=soldier+bugs&qid=1616524416&sr=8-13
