Not eating properly and stood

Hello my 2 yr old hybrid hen is not eating properly, is losing weight, and unless approached just stands with her tail down and her head in to her neck. She will move if approached with her tail up. If I put Apple out she will eat this but not endlessly. The same applies to corn. She used to eat it till it was gone but now onky eats a small amount. She used to be top of the pecking order but now allows others to take her treads. Her pooh contains water but also had semi solid veg matter, which I think is grass and white in it. I felt the crop tonight but it wasn't very full. I think she is drinking vitamin laced water.
She has generally been off for a couple of months but has got worse the last 2 weeks. I have a local vet but they don't specialise in chickens. I have checked for lice and she is ok. Her vent is also ok.
Any suggestions

Pictures of poop? Does it look like the attached photos?
Notice any blood in stool?

If it looks like pictures its coccidiosis, they stop eating and bunch their head into their neck. Treat with corid asap! They can die within a week of catching it if not treated.
If it doesnt look like photos it could be some other form of parasite or something else.

She should be eating mostly layer feed for 90% of her diet, so I would stop all the other foods. Try adding some water to a small bowl of feed, to make a wet mash. You could add a little chopped egg or liver occasionally.

If you can call around for a vet to get some fresh dropping tested, it might be good to know if she has any worms or coccidiosis. Flubenvet in feed is a good wormer, and amprollium or coxoid are the treatments for coccidiosis. Adding a probiotic or a small tsp of plain greek yogurt to food 2-3 times per week can help her gut bacteria.

Has she laid an egg recently, and have her eggs been normal? Can you insert a finger up to 2 inches into her vent, just to check her for a stuck egg?

If you cannot get her droppings checked for worms and coccidiosis, then you can go ahead and treat for those possible problems anyway.

Many thanks. I worm with flubenvet regularly. Her pooh does look like 2 of the pics above. I dont believe she has laid for a while. Where can i get the cocodiousis treatment???I'm in the UK. I'll get some asap.

I haven't noticed any blood in the poop. Her pooh has looked like the first pic recently. There has been poop like the others recently in my garden. Where can I pick up corid and how do I feed it? Can cocodiousis spread? I am am grateful. Oh and I do use flubenvet 3/4 times a year

I usta get mine at Co-op but any local feed store might carry it, I'd call around and get to dosing them asap. I attached a link with the proper dosages. The liquid works best and easiest for me, but if you can only find powder you might want to get it at this time and treat your entire flock asap. You will want to orally treat this sick hen with a dropper or syringe as well as in her waterer and remove all the other chickens water source except for 1 and medicate that water source. Change out water and redose daily.

Do not use sulmet it only treats 2 strains of coccidiosis as well as worms, and corid i think treats 8 or more I cant remember. Sulmet wis also very harsh on the chickens and can make them worse off if not careful, so I highly recommend Corid for any coccidiosis outbreaks. Once its in the soil its there for life, and new chickens arent immune to your soil and new chickens can carry a new strain to your flock. So always medicate when you get a new chicken. I routinely treat 3/4 times a year to avoid any out breaks. Chicks exposed to the soil at a young age will most likely build up an immunity to the strains in your yard so they wont need to be treated at a young age unless they begin to show signs.

** Also I never treat for worms and coccidiosis at the same time because dewormers are harsh on the chicken and if the chicken is already sick it can push it over the edge. That being said other people say they have had success treating for both at once. I on the other hand had a few chickens with coccidiosis die because I treated them for worms at the same time. Now I wait til after I treat for coccidiosis then wait a few days after treatment is complete before I deworm them.
