Not entering coop at night

My chickens have ALWAYS gone inside their coop to roost at night. The past couple of weeks some of my hens have roosted up outside the coop. It’s very cold and they can’t stay outside, I’ve been taking them in. Any ideas why they would all of the sudden be doing this? Started off with just 2, but tonight 4 were still out.

It's definitely frustrating when "all-of-a-sudden" seemingly normal behavior changes!
A couple of things to ask yourself as you try to figure this out:
Has anything in the coop changed?
Has the coop been cleaned recently? Have you added new birds?
Has the pecking order changed?
Often times coop dynamics can really effect them - but also pests, smells, or other changes.
Best of luck to you!

Haha - darn those "do not change things!" chickens! :)
They will get better, but for about a week, you will have to put them all gently into the coop every night. It will become normal again. Then, you'll get it ready for summer...
