not just turkeys WILD TURKEYS

Taking eggs from a wild turkey nest..........I have to agree with other members that it's not a good thing to do.....You have to respect wildlife. Alot of times, people THINK a nest is abandoned. Unless you are 100% sure (like you see a dead turkey hen nearby), you should really never disturb a nest.

This is something I teach my kids at a very early age......We live in the country, and we've had lots of nests of bunnies, and even a fawn born in the tall grass next to our woods. I teach the kids to respect wildlife. Do not disturb bird nests, rabbit nests........

Mama turkey could be nearby, just hiding from you........

Please take our advice and no more nest raiding.......

And welcome! Nobody's perfect!

To answer your question, it may best NOT to put your poults with your chickens if they are confined. I know a lot of people do raise them together without problems, but the advice I was given is to keep them separate so the poults don't get sick and die. They are very suseptable to illness. In a free range situation they should be OK.
