I haven't hatched any yet, but my eggs are rocking now so it'll be soon.
I had my eggs turned all different directions. Some were big end in and some were big end out. Whatever turned the best is what I did. I think they were just offering suggestions. But my eggs are also the size of chicken eggs, so I have no idea how it would do with bigger duck eggs.
And I'm no expert on cracks, but I wouldn't take it out if it is fertile. Go and search through the hatching page. They have something about putting wax on a crack or something along those lines.
Again, I'm not sure, I've never done it. But it's worth a shot. If it ends up not developing then you can throw it out.
Remember it's only day four! Give it a few more days before you decide to throw anyone away.
