I had to drive 30 miles home tonight because I wanted to cry in private over Michael Jackson.
I watched everything from his family at their house leaving till the very end of the memorial. It was very hard for me because I had people around cracking the cruelest jokes around which I finally just started coming back with 'Ohh youre just jealous' which put a quick stop to it. I had to hold back tears SO many times.
What fascinated me the most about Michael Jackson was the fact that he used his amazing talent to he change and inspire the world. He did it at SUCH a young age too. Michael has a heart that I have not seen in any other musician out there.
"In songs like We are the World, and Man in the Mirror, Michael spoke to the hearts of people and made powerful statements about the need for greater unity, compassion and peace in the world.
Much of the proceeds of his records and tours were donated to charities devoted to African relief, college scholarships and HIV/AIDS. In 1992, he founded the Heal the World Foundation to relieve the suffering of children around the world.
His Dangerous World Tour that year gave him the opportunity, in his own words, to visit children around the world, as well as spread the message of global love, in the hope that others will be moved to do their share to help heal the world. In 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records cited Michael Jackson for holding the world record for the Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star.
He inspires me to be a better person and for that I give a 1000 thank yous to him.
It was sad to hear the performers pain through their voices and eyes. When Mariah cracked during the first few words, usher cried towards the end, his brother Jermaine wiped away the tears after singing Michaels favorite song...hearing Brooke Sheilds speach...ugh it just brought tears to my eyes evertime.
It also killed me to see that little girl hurt SO much. I lost my mother last october and I was 20 years old. I could not imagine loosing the one parent I knew at the tender age of 7, 11, and 12. Little Blanket look so scared and sad as he mostly hid behind the pamplet clinching the toy version on his father. Prince looked very held together, very strong and dignified. His children were beautiful! It may just be me wanting but I did see resemblance in the kids to Michael.
I must admit that I can not wait to hear his new releases! I love MJ from the time he was a little boy till now. Ive loved him since I can remember. I feel such a loss for someone that played such a big part in my life..
