i cant believe this! One of my dads mates was out at work and he found this poor cockerel just beside a road in the middle of nowhere! Someonej had obviously drivin out there to dump him purposely to get rid of him and really, i dont think they would go out of there way to only dump one!!! And the place he was found is pine martin heaven, so no ownder he was the only one left!!!
Anyway my dads mate brought the poor guy round and he is in terrible condition. He has a deformed foot, which looks sore to walk on

He also had his face COVERED in tiny ticks!! We dusted him in derris dust and put some stuff on the kill the ticks. He was also starving and has black bits on his wattle and comb.
I also have no idea what breed he is, i think he might be a cross scots grey? He is deffinatly a bantam and he is grey and white speckeled with some gold and brown bits mixed in.
I just cant believe someone would be so cold as to just dump him, to fend for himself when he really doesnt know how to!!

It is sad what callous and thoughtless people do to God's creatures. My brother in law picked up a chiuaua (sic) dog that had been dumped along the side of a deep woods road here. He took it home and it is doing well. I am not sure where you are from, but in my location (northern Wisconsin) tiny ticks = deer ticks = lyme disease. it is very prevelant here. I doubt very much that chickens can get it, but make sure none of them crawled on you!
