I'm not really new since I joined in October but I don't really particiapate much so thought Id make a quick introduction. I recently convinced my family to move to the country. (I don't think they're loving it as much as I am) we had 7 chickens last year. We let them free range and everything was fine then we lost them late fall into the winter turns out they looked very tasty. So this year I had 18 chickens which has turned into 33 chickens of various breeds. I am having a great time with all my chickens. Excited we will be getting goats this weekend.

We are getting 2 Nigerian dwarf goats. We will raise them for pets and milk. Actually they're my oldest sons idea. He fell in love with a goat a couple years ago and has been begging for goats. But realistically I know these will be my goats. They are so cute. We're going to make goat milk soap too.

Goats are great animals - you'll love your little ones!

Hate to be a party pooper but, fall will be going into winter again ,this year. Have you made any major changes, so you won't lose your chickens again? You may want to review the coops and predator sections - to find the best ways to repel predators.

Yea I built them a much bigger run and now they only "free range" when we are home. Their run is completely enclosed now. I was so sad when I lost my girls last years.
