Not so Free Free Puppy {added pictures}

He is a cutie. Pointers are beautiful dogs! My free dog is just finishing up her very expensive heartworm treatment. Next up, yearly shots. *sigh*

My free dog took a 500 mile round trip to get him. Then we found out he has separtion anxity. Chewed door knob almost off removed most of the trim work from the door. Vet said he needed a special collar to help calm him down, cost $30, but it helped. Then he chewed out of a heavy wire dog create, vet said neuter him was going to any way just waiting for him to settle in. Well that was 3 weeks ago have a few more days to see if it is working. He stays in the horse trailer (chew your way out of there big dog) when he has to be left alone for more than 5 seconds. Gotta love those FREE ones. Would not trade him though

We got a free puppy last summer, who turned out to have worms (even though he had been wormed by the people who gave him to us). He also received all his puppy shots again as the vet didn't think vaccines from the farm and feed store were quality. He's probably about 15 or 20 lbs. now, and he's strong as an ox. He's also a crazy dog that won't listen for crap and loves to chase squirrels around the yard, but I love him anyway. Here's our dachtsund mix Trouble:

Thanks. We have not had a pointer/hound before and he is a sweet and fun little guy. My other 2 were free too. Yes, dogs are usually free for a reason. Bob the JRT's mother was found by someone while she was pregnant and they just wanted to place the pups as soon as they were old enough. Love him, but he is a Jack Russell and is a lot of dog. Zuma the doxipin came from an older lady who was just letting them breed in her house and her son made her get rid of them. She was 9 months old and heading for the SPCA when I got her. She had never been outside or house broke, but was healthy and no worms. Zuma is my shadow. Hopefully Dude will get cleaned up soon and start to gain weight and grow as he seems small for a pointer to me, and get housebroke. He already is much more playful and feels better.

He looks like a full blood english pointer (field bred). Most of the time they are very sweet dogs, some can be 'soft' when it comes to corrections (without a doubt easier then the jrt!). Thanks for giving him a great home!

Jamie, don't have to just be a bird hunter, if you look at the german's, they get used for everything (they are two totally different breeds, bred for two different things, and a very different mindset). Lot of them competeing in obedience, agility, some in shutszhund, lots in search and rescue, drug dogs. Very smart, trainable, great work ethic dogs. I have titles mine in hunting, obedience and agility, they love anything they can do with their people!

Awwwwww! My heart melts for puppies! He is SOOO adorable. Sounds like it is a good thing he found you to take good care of him. He wouldn't have lasted long with someone who didn't notice the warning signs and took the time, effort and expense at getting him the help he needs. Hopefully he will get healthy and out grow being sickly so he can have a happy life with you!

Adorable !! Free isn't always bad sometimes you need to put in some money but it so worth it. We got a free horse, not so free once we put money into vet bill and teeth floating. But well worth every single penny. That pup is going to grow up stunning. So darn cute.
How big does that breed get ?
