Not-so-silky silkies. What are we?

They're ALL Silkie crosses.


Hence the fact that the OP said they all have 5 toes, plus, they are all partially crested like a Silkie too. And, Silkie feathering is recessive.

I say the top and bottom roos are silkie mixed with some type of barred bird such as a barred rock or cuckoo marans. I think the middle hen is a silkie mixed with a cochin, although I once had a hen who was a black silkie mixed with a buff orpington who looked JUST like her! Loving the cute little crest on her head.
