So the person who sent me the eggs was the person I had won them from off of Ebay. I didn't pay for the eggs because I had asked to cancel the transaction and they agreed so I was pretty surprised when I saw who the eggs were from. I am very pleased to have some chicken eggs to hatch because I haven't ever had a chicken before but I am slightly confused as to why they sent them since last they knew my bator was broken.

Either way, I am going to have fun with the eggs (if I can get my bator to cooperate) and I am going to send payment to the seller tonight when DH gets home :o)

The auction was for a mix of eggs to include "Red Island, Plymouth Rocks, Araucana and more" so it will be fun to see what we get...especially because I have absolutely no clue how to tell them apart because I have zero knowledge of chickens, lol.

Fun!!!

Picture of eggs in post #10 - Think we have all but what is in the white box on the far right figured out. Any guesses on whats in them?

New update 2/15 - I decided after showing the eggs to my husband Thursday night that I didn't really want to pay for them because of their condition...they smelled like they had come out of a cow and some even looked like it too. Since I asked that the transaction be canceled and the seller agreed to it, DH and I didn't think it was a big deal and figured if they sent the eggs even though we had the transaction canceled through ebay than they must not care about payment. We set the eggs Saturday night and by Sunday morning 3 had gone rotten. Anyway, I went into my ebay this morning to check on an item I am watching and there was a message from the seller looking for payment!!!! I am so annoyed because #1 the eggs were disgusting and after finding 3 rotten after 12 hours we tossed them all in an effort to not compromise the duck eggs we are incubating but also I am annoyed because if we went through ebay to cancel the transaction and they took it upon themselves to send them I don't think they can just demand payment like that.

Grrr!!!! If, and that's a big if, I ever decide to try shipped eggs again, I am sticking with BYC to get them. I have a 100% feedback rating on ebay with 70 positive transactions and I so don't need these people to hurt it.

If I post a picture of these eggs, is it possible for someone to tell me what they might be or are there way too many possibilities to even bother guessing?

guessing is fun!

And we'll probably get it all wrong!

Well the breed list on here says that the Plymouth rocks lay a large light brown egg. The rhode island reds lay a large brown egg. Araucana lay a blue/green egg. Beyond that don't think we could tell from the egg pictures

Well that was actually a huge help, thanks!!! Now all I am unsure of is the 3 small light brown colored eggs. They are the same shade as the rhode island reds but they aren't even half as big.
