Not sure about what to do with my Roo. Would love some advice!

If you do not have "Stories Guide to Chickens" I would buy a copy. I too was experiencing the same thing with my roo and almost gave him away. After I read that book I gained a lot of insight about chicken behavior. For instance they do not see very well to begin with since their eyes are on the sides of their heads. They have one eyhe they use for distance and one for close up. That is why they always look at you with their head cocked to the side. Also any fast moving shadow or fast movement at all looks like predator attacking. That is why roosters often attack children and well meaning adaults is that they make very sudden movements, which again looks like they are being attacked. Chickens can't really distinguish you, being a person from any other animal. Once I read this everything started to make sense and I realized that if you make slow deliberate movements you won't get attacked.

What many people are trying to say is that these are *chickens* not people and you can't attribute human characteristics to them. "It seems unfair" is not a chicken concept. If it were, roos would share hens "fairly" and they would all get along.
They do have personalities, for certain. But you don't love everyone in your world and you are human with a large brain. Roos have a little brain and don't think about concepts and personalities and reasoning. They are cause and effect with no excuses.
Think like a chicken and act accordingly.

I had the same thing happen w/ our BO roo! He attacked my husband but it was slight and he just went on about his business..BUT It was my 2yr old grandson he went after.-at first it was just dancing around him. The first attack, he hit grandson in his chest and flogged him. leaving slight scatch marks down his stomach--the second time he hit him from behind and brought blood to his neck... That was it.. I have not once regretted getting rid of him... I was gonna kill him but my SIL wanted him to put at their barn... They are adults only that go their and the boys are almost 20 and would never put up w/ an attack...

*****IF you give him away PLEASE make sure you tell them the truth--so they know the rooster should not be around children.

I've had this problem over the years. If you can't find a good home then why not just keep him in the locked run. He'll be just fine with food and fresh water. If you were to poll the people on this board, at least 1/2 would say they keep ALL their chickens locked in the run.
